Carlisle Events Adds Jim Brady to Full-Time Staff
Brady to Head Carlisle's Southeast Division of Business Operations
Thursday, February 07, 2013
Carlisle Events was founded in 1974 by two friends, Bill Miller and Chip Miller (no relation). Between their initial event in the fall of '74 to what would become their second event, Spring Carlisle (1977), just over two years passed. Since that time, Carlisle has grown, expanded and has become a name and brand synonymous with hosting some of the greatest collector car events in the world. With its most recent additions, five events in 2012, Carlisle Events also added staff to better support its operations. One of its newest staff members, Jim Brady, has been specifically hired to oversee Carlisle's southeast division. Not only will Jim be Carlisle's go-to man as part of the Zephyrhills events, he'll also serve as the first line of communication for the company when he visits other car shows, swap meets and auto auctions within the Sunshine State and beyond.
Brady, a New Jersey native, will be based in Florida and work to further solidify the Carlisle Events name within the southeast. Brady brings years of experience to the table with both the hobby and region, having worked for 13 years as the Operations Manager for the Daytona Turkey Run held annually at Daytona Speedway. As part of this position, he promoted and ran two classic car shows and swap meets each year, including the set up and operation of Midway displays, Speed Weeks and Bike Weeks. Much as he did at Daytona, he'll continue to travel to shows to market Carlisle and the two Zephyrhills events.
Prior to moving to Florida's Space Coast, Brady worked for Shell/Huntsman Chemical as an engineer and before entering the work force on a full-time basis, he worked for Uncle Sam as a member of the US Army. "I'm very excited to be part of the Carlisle team," noted Brady. "Carlisle produces many shows at multiple venues. Combine that with the special focus of each event and I see Carlisle Events as the benchmark for the collector car hobby. This job involves everything with wheels and motors, as well as the greatest people and their passion for all things automotive. I'm very happy to be involved and can't wait to work with some old friends while making a bunch of new ones along the way."
"Carlisle Events is excited to bring another incredible addition to our already strong lineup," noted co-owner Lance Miller. "Jim Brady has extensive knowledge in the automotive hobby and events, making him a strong asset not only to our newest acquisition, Zephyrhills AutoFest, but to our Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based events as well. We’re ready, able and willing to make our future events bigger and better for everyone that steps foot into our facilities. I encourage you to come meet our friendly team at any of our upcoming events. Jim’s focus will be not only to grow the Florida division of Carlisle Events, but also to make the events more entertaining and exciting. "
