“The King,” Richard Petty to Spend Sunday at Carlisle
NASCAR Legend and seven-time Winston Cup Champion Richard Petty will spend Sunday, July 8th at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds as part of the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals. Petty is presented by the Northeast Hemi Owners Association.

Daisy Duke Coming to Carlisle
Catherine Bach of Dukes of Hazzard Fame at Chrysler Nationals
Catherine Bach is famously known for her role on the long running CBS program the Dukes of Hazzard, due in part to her eye catching looks, country girl charm and name sake Daisy Duke Shorts. Bach, now 58, has appeared in multiple films and TV programs, beginning with 1974’s “The Midnight Man” alongside Hollywood icon Burt Lancaster. Other credits include “The Love Boat,” “Cannon Ball Run II,” “African Skies” and most recently “Chapman.” Bach has also lent her name to a clothing line, CB by Catherine Bach. Apparel available includes jeans, skirts, shirts and the famed Daisy Dukes.

Cooter Coming to Carlisle
Ben Jones of Dukes of Hazzard Fame at Chrysler Nationals
Ben Jones appeared in 142 episodes over the course of the run of Dukes as Cooter Davenport – Hazard County mechanic and friend of the Duke family. During that time, Jones won re-election in 1990. Most recently, Jones appeared in an episode of the TV show “Surface.” Jones is also the founder of the original Duke Fest and is a musician, having appeared on the stage of the famed Grand Ole Opry.
Though his appearance schedule has yet to be finalized, Jones will be on-site all weekend meeting fans, snapping photos and signing autographs.

1972 RETRO DEALERSHIP
Travel Back to 1972 at Carlisle
Building G always plays host to our “retro dealership” and we’re bringing this popular feature back once more. Turn your clocks back to 1972. Nixon was still President and gas was, at least as we look at it now, CHEAP! In addition, performance was still alive in the Mopar camp in ’72. They had everything from 340 small block engines to 440 big blocks. This, and so much more will be display as part of our annual and very popular “retro dealership.” Look for special displays throughout the dealership.
If you have an original or properly restored 1972 Mopar and would like to have it considered for the 1972 Retro Dealership, please complete and submit the Invitational Form.

MOPAR SURVIVOR DISPLAY
All-Original, Untouched, and Unrestored
Survivors are true time capsules and are the best way to see exactly how these vehicles were originally assembled on the line. They still have their original factory applied paint, interiors and drive trains; or at least a minimum of 85% of it. Thanks to Mel Major we were able to bring you over forty unique examples for each of the last several years. We're doing it again this year, so be sure to stop by the Mopar Survivors Display to take lots of reference photos for your restoration project, enhance your knowledge or just to admire these rare beauties.
If you have a Mopar that you feel might qualify as a Survivor please contact Mel directly at mkmajor@verizon.net for more information.
